Thankful Hearts.....

....and Full Tummies!

Over the years, in Ohio, we discovered that staying home was the best!
Consequently, I learned to make a Thanksgiving dinner that would knock your socks off!
(really.)
After our move to Utah....we discovered that going to someone else's home was WAY easier!
So we alternate years between Grandparents.

This plan is taking a little getting used to...for me..any how.
I always feel like I am "missing something" if I am not preparing food, first thing in the morning!

This year I came up with a very good solution.
1. Pajamas
2. Thanksgiving Day Parade
3. Brunch

For brunch this year:
1. Breakfast Steamer
2. Breakfast Blueberry Cassarole
(recipe at end of post)
3. Omelet
4. Fruit
5. Rest until LATE afternoon

Thanksgiving 2010
This is Paul's Mom.
Otherwise known as "Grandma S."
She did ALL the work!
This is Bob.
Otherwise known as, "Grandpa S."
He did the carving, some cooking, cleaning, and entertaining!
Look at Grandpa and Grandma Betsy.
Aren't they adorable?
I think she said that next year will be her 90th birthday!!
Gorgeous.

From Left to Right: Uncle Eli (The favorite uncle)
Cousin Joey
Aunt Sherrie
Sherrie is my hero! She always has a nice thing to say....ALWAYS.
The kids table this year was a little sparse, no cousins.
But our kids were perfectly happy digging in to the FEAST!
And "feast"they did!
This is Aunt Barbra.
She and I stood for at least and hour at the sink.
Washing and drying, washing and drying, washing and drying.

When we arrived, for dinner, she was standing there...
...and she stayed there until she went home!
(Hey, did she eat?)
She and I always have a good chat when we get together!

Grandma S. really out did herself this year!
Roast Turkey
Green Beans
"Riced" Potatoes
Yams
Broccoli
Homemade Rolls
Homemade Stuffing
Sarah Salad
and then....
FOUR homemade pies!

Such a great way to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday!
