After our traditional family trip....
we were home 2 days for "Scout Camp."
(I forgot to take pictures, and it was Gabe's first year).
On day 3 we were on a plain to beautiful Hawaii!
L- R back row: Andrea, Aunt Jen, Uncle Eli, Grandma Carol, Grandpa Bob
L-R front row: Lauren, Madeline, India, Gabe, Tadje, Robbie, Ava
Lei's right from the get go!
We stayed at the Hilton the first portion of the trip!
The location was really great!
And so were the fireworks!
The following morning, we headed off the Pearl Harbor.
It is really impressive.
There's so much to visit, and to understand.
Ava trying out the Scuba Gear!
This is a shot of the Names at the USS Arizona.
To think, that those men and women never returned home.
It brought tears to my eyes.
USS Missouri.
Grandpa Moore served on this ship.
This is also where Japan signed the Peace Treaty that ended WWII.
I was a bit overcome on this day.
As we learned about the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
The USS Missouri, USS Arizona, and faithful members of our armed forces.
We headed off to other fun museums and historical sites.
Here we are at the aviation museum.
We are back at Pearl Harbor.
(take a close look at my sunglasses--Coach)
We took an amazing tour of the submarine.
(Right after clicking this picture, the wind picked up and grabbed my sunglasses off my head, where they were dumping directly into the Pacific Ocean.)
Touring a real working sub.
Take me for a ride!
This is where all the cousins turned in their "Junior Ranger"packets for their badges.
They were sworn in and promised to "obey their Mother's at all times."
This wrapped up Day 1.
Boy was it fun!
I felt so blessed to live in such an amazing country and thankful for those who protect our freedoms!
