Last week was our winter off-track time!
My kids ALWAYS look forward to this!
We headed to our Bear Lake condo. Otherwise known as, "Brrr-Lake."
The highlight of the trip is a week full of snow skiing at The Beav.
It's a smaller resort. A local owner/operator, who recognizes our family each year!
We LOVE it.
This year, the lake was frozen.
I have a rule that the kids can't go down to the lake without an adult.
One afternoon, the kids and I skittered across the snow topped ice along the shoreline.
We noticed a family several hundred yards out.
They had cleared the snow with shovels, and were ice skating!!!
Oh. How. Fun!
When they left their coveted spot for dinner.... the boys and I ventured out.
What a great time we had!!!
This is one of my favorite trips.
It's a time to slow down, relax, eat hot and filling foods, and enjoy each other!
This is the first year we were unable to actually wear our kids out by bedtime!
A true reminder: They grow up way to fast!!!
We finished our trip a couple days early.
Little Ava contracted, what we later found out to be, Influenza B.
She spent several days in and out of the hospital.
Lots of sleepless nights, nebulizers, steroids, and cuddles.
What a way to end a trip.
(PS--due to last year's illness-we ALL had our flu shots this year.....)
