And so...the exciting part of our marathon excursion begins!
As noted before: there was THE COOLEST train museum at the union station.
I promised (or bribed) Gabe that we would see the trains.
We looked.
We drove.
We climbed.
We rode.
We tested.
We measured.
We moved.
Boy, oh boy!!! Did this make for a really fun afternoon!
They also had a really NEAT-O collection of antique cars!
I mean it...it was really cool!
On the ride home, I was explaining to Gabe that they have a working train.
It's called The FrontRunner.
We could purchase tickets the next time we wanted an adventure...and actually ride a train!
All I heard the whole way home:
"Mom, are you sure it's a REAL train?"
"Can we really ride it?"
"Do they stamp your ticket like in Polar Express?"
"Well, how fast does it go?"
"Is it as fast as a Freight Train?"
"Does it take a WHOLE mile for it to stop?"
"When can we come up next?"
Toot-Toot!
