Welcome to the Land of the Harvest.
This summer we decided to "rent" a little piece of land from a local farmer.
It was the best thing for our family.
We talked about what we would plant.
We talked about what we wanted to "can."
We planted.....in the rain, mud, lightening, and thunder.
(The Spring was rather long and wet for Utah).
This is also the time that we learned that Gabriel is deathly afraid of thunder and lightening.
I wish I had taken a photo of how things grew!
Every Sunday after chruch, we would drive to the land.
Look, Pick, and Eat.
Mmmmmm.
Some of the things we grew:
Red Cabbage
Corn
Green Beans
Tomatoes
Jalepeno Peppers
Green Peppers
Watermelon
Squash
Pumpkins
Cucumber
Carrots
New Potatoes
Garlic
Onion
This is a "Moon and Stars" Watermelon.
Sweet and Delicious.
It was a great way to spend some time with the kids.
Watch them learn how things grow.
Get our hands dirty.
Enjoy each others company.
